The organizers of KBS21 have secured special funding to sponsor researchers who otherwise may not be able to attend the conference due to a lack of institutional support. Given the online format of the conference in 2021, the financial support consists exclusively of the participation fee.
The deadline for applying for Financial Support / Scholarship is 31st January 2021. Please send your applications by midnight Helsinki time (EET) (i.e. by 11 pm CET). The applications for financial support will be evaluated alongside the abstracts, as the quality of the contribution is one of the assessment criteria. Therefore, scholarship applicants MUST submit their abstract by 31st January 2021 as well.
The criteria used to assess applications will include:
- Presentation of a paper at the conference that is of importance and relevance to the aims of the Kettil Bruun Society;
- Firm commitment to attend all five days of the conference;
- Being a researcher without any institutional support;
- Being located in a low/middle income country or a country otherwise under-represented at the conference;
- Not having received support to attend KBS Annual Symposia in Chiang Mai 2018 or Utrecht 2019;
- In 2021, the scholarship committee may, as they see fit, give special consideration to those applicants who were selected to receive support to attend the cancelled KBS Annual Symposium in Warsaw in 2020.
If you wish to apply for financial support, please complete the form below and submit your abstract by 31st January 2021.
Application for financial support is not possible anymore (closing date was 31/01/2021).
